It was a beautiful service. Lots of people that have traveled this pastoral road before us got up to speak and share their wisdom. He took vows. He was prayed over. It was like watching him in a wedding ceremony that I didnt get to be apart of. In some ways thats true. There are things he does and people he meets with that I wont get to share in. He has a covenant that is different than mine. He is called to a place and a role that is much different than mine. We are on this journey together, yes, but God requires him to care for souls in a different way than God requires of me.
I am coming to realize how much "service" this life of ministry requires. As stay at home moms knows-all day long I serve, serve, serve. And all day long my husband serves, serves, serves. Then he comes home and we have people in our home and serve, serve, serve. It's good work, rewarding work but its hard work. But we are so glad we are on this road and that God sees us fit for us to care for people's souls, care for people's marriages, care for peoples wounds and joys. What a joy!
isnt it weird that kids automatically know how to trick or treat? they can be shy in so many areas but they dont mind asking complete strangers for candy! Frankie didnt miss a beat getting candy that night and even saw a dog inside one of the house and helped herself into the house to chase the dog! how embarrassing! she is my brave girl.
so we are apart of the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA). Mojo has gone through rigorous exams and tests and more oral exams to become an ordained minister. It's pretty hardcore out here in the west and he was pretty nervous about passing and he did!!!
we have some wonderful friends who live in Colorado Springs who are also planting a church and Jason was also standing for ordination at the same time as Mojo. Since they both passed we went out to a fancy dinner with them to celebrate their wonderful accomplishment.
Kara has a wonderful blog about her battle with cancer here, read it and be encouraged!!!
can you believe maggie is 6?????? this little girl is coming into her own for sure. she is so confident at school, so brave. she is sassy about her clothes now too. she ONLY wants to wear her new balance shoes and does NOT like to layer her shirts. she is so sweet to frankie and is still best friends with Abraham.
for her birthday she asked to have a picnic birthday party. it was the easiest party i've ever done! so many sweet little girls from church and school. she is really blessed!
